- Columnist (2015-)
The lovely ladies at Apartment 34 let me ramble about my favorite topics: love and dating. And – like Salt-N-Pepa said – let's talk about sex, baby.
MSP-Communications // General Mills
- Interim Senior Editor, Pillsbury.com (2014)
Filling in for a momma on maternity leave, I served as the point person for Pillsbury.com's community of bloggers, editing and assigning their articles, helped ideate future assignments and created multiple pieces of content per week.
- Sex + Dating Columnist (2014)
In which I get to recount my adventures (and let's face it, misadventures) of sex and dating and that "L" word I sometimes have a hard some saying to Garance, fashion blogger extraordinaire, and her especially savvy readers. Like when I dated a man-child who needed his mom to make him sandwiches. Or when I debated whether or not bad sex is a dealbreaker. (Duh, yes, of course it is.)
- Director of Digital Content + Web Editor (March 2013 - July 2014)
Coordinated all content for six bridal magazines' websites, making every hed, dek, image and body of text interesting, well-written and SEO-friendly; oversaw two website resigns and the ongoing digital efforts; plus all the goodies below during my duties solely as web editor
- Web Editor (November 2009 - February 2013)
Managed all web content for the bridal magazines' sites; cultivated a tight brand identity between print, online and social media platforms; managed and created content for multiple Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram accounts; effectively (very, look at my analytics) promoted content through social media
- Contributing Writer // Columnist, METRO Magazine (May 2008 - July 2012)
Each month wrote a two-page first-person profile, This Urban Life; coordinated and wrote captions for monthly Party Pics pages
- Editorial Intern (May 2008 - October 2009)
Fact-checked entire books, wrote department pieces, assisted on and coordinated photo shoots
- Editorial Intern (2009-2010)
Fact-checked the entire book, wrote four monthly front-of-the-book pieces regarding health, wellness and psychology
Writing with a point of view, an absurd love of charming strangers, SEO, admitting when I'm wrong, analyzing (and improving) analytics, surviving years of unpaid internships, all things social (including writing witty and concise posts, timing them appropriately and creating advertisements), sticking to my damn church + state rules between editorial + advertising, juggling — such an overused verb, no? — many, many jobs at once
- Bachelor of Arts, University of Minnesota → Magazine Journalism, Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature
- 3.999 GPA due to that one semester I received an A- in Italian.
